Do I need to book a course of lessons?
No, you can book one off lessons.
How far ahead can you book?
We release lessons up to two months ahead.
If I need to cancel or rearrange my lesson will I get my money back?
Yes, as long as you give 48 hours notice.
Do I need my own equipment?
No, we provide riding helmets and boots to borrow free of charge.
Is there a weight limit for riding?
Yes, each horse has a maximum weight limit which has been calculated to keep them comfortable. Our biggest horses can carry 12 stone which is 76KG.
Questions about volunteering
What should I wear?
Warm, old clothing is best.
What will I be doing?
Volunteers help with all sorts of tasks including grooming horses. keeping the yard clean and tidy, leading beginner riders on lessons, filling haynets, making feeds, showing visitors around.
Will I get to ride?
Volunteers aged 12-18 can earn tokens for riding lessons. 6 tokens will earn you a group lesson.
What skills will I gain?
You'll learn all about how to care for horses. You'll also learn how to manage your emotions when you're around the horses, how to communicate with body language, how to work as part of a large team, how to work safely and many other things besides!
