Meet The Horses

Half brother and best mate to Sid. They had a rough start and ended up with the RSPCA before being adopted by their loving owner, who kindly loans them to us. The sweetest guy, Sam loves to be groomed. His calm, kind presence helps those who might feel nervous to relax. 

Half-brother to Sam, Sid is a lovely RSPCA pony and is most comfortable when near his brother. He loves to be groomed and enjoys a good enrichment toy such as a hay ball.

Ginny is a 6-year-old mare. Despite being one of the younger members of the team, she is super sensible and very brave! She loves investigating new things and is fantastic at agility. She grows the most incredible moustache, which we trim to keep under control.

Dream is a Shetland pony. She is 19 years old. Dream is a friendly soul who loves to be scratched. If you scratch her chest, she will return the favour by gently scratching your back with her teeth. This is how horses groom each other. 

Trevor (sometimes known as 'Minty Trev') is a 17 year old pony. He's very forward thinking which is lovely for riders who like to canter! He has a condition called Sweet Itch which means he needs to wear a fly rug and mask most of the time to stop him getting bitten by midges. 

Captain is a Connemara gelding. He's a favorite with our teenagers as he's great at jumping! He's friendly and affectionate. 

Jake is the friendliest chap around. He's super sweet, steady and everyone's best mate. Jack loves scratches and he also loves snacks!

Will is a 15-year-old gelding. He's a laid-back guy who enjoys a quiet scratch, a massage (especially on his bum!), and an enrichment activity. His best friend is Larry but Larry does tend to boss him around a bit!  

Larry is a 16-year-old gelding. He's the nicest guy and is great at giving confidence. Larry likes his food and doesn't like to share! So he can be grumpy with other horses if he thinks they're coming for his dinner. But with humans he's always a delight. 

Bob is a 10-year-old Highland pony gelding. His preferred activity is eating. Bob isn't the bravest soul and tends to need others to give him confidence when trying new activities or exploring new items. Food rewards work well as motivation! 

Amber (pictured here considering taking food directly out of someone else's mouth) really loves a snack. She also loves Ginny. She really looks after her riders and is a fabulous pony for children who are new or nervous. 

Reggie and Franklin are the babies of the group. They are both super friendly so you might meet them at our open events or if you come to a birthday party. Because they are young we give them lots of long holidays so that they have time to process new experiences and learning.
